A new viral TikTok trend has stirred up a full-blown storm online. Users aren’t just filming ‘owl’ videos anymore. They’re impersonating people who are impersonating owls.

No one knows exactly who started this delightfully odd idea, but the trend has exploded in recent weeks. Under the hashtag #owlimpression, more than 13,000 videos have already been posted, each offering a unique spin on the concept.

Creators keep adding their own flavor, and the trend has flown far beyond the US. Social media is now full of ‘Italian owls,’ ‘Jamaican owls,’ ‘Irish owls,’ and many more national and cultural variations.

Some creators have taken it even further. Comedian and TikTok blogger Luke Frankina shared a spot-on Jennifer Coolidge impression… as an owl. User C. King imagined what an owl would look like in Denzel Washington’s style, while comedian Mary Elizabeth Kelly attempted to channel Jennifer Aniston — again, in owl form.
The internet, unsurprisingly, is obsessed 🦉
