A scandal has erupted within one of the UK’s most famous families. Victoria and David Beckham’s eldest son has opened up about his strained relationship with his parents.
The relationship between the former Spice Girls star and the ex-captain of the England national team and their firstborn reportedly deteriorated after he decided to marry actress Nicola Peltz.
According to Brooklyn Beckham, his parents attempted to pressure him into signing an agreement to drop his surname ahead of the wedding, back in April 2022.
The 26-year-old Beckham also claimed that his designer mother tried to sabotage the wedding preparations.
“My mother refused at the last minute to provide Nicola with a wedding dress, even though my wife was happy and excited to wear one from her brand,” Brooklyn said.
However, the most shocking moment, according to him, occurred during the wedding ceremony itself. Brooklyn claims that Victoria Beckham effectively stole the newlyweds’ first dance.
“In front of 500 guests, Marc Anthony invited me onto the stage so I could share a romantic dance with my wife. Instead, my mother danced with me. Her behavior was completely inappropriate. I have never felt so uncomfortable and humiliated in my life,” he recalled.
Brooklyn Beckham also stated that his parents are primarily concerned with protecting their personal brand and public image. He alleges that Victoria and David Beckham portray a picture-perfect family on social media that does not reflect the reality behind closed doors.
