Young Singers Perform ‘Edelweiss’ From ‘The Sound of Music’ With Angelic Voices

Fans of the classic movie-musical The Sound of Music will instantly recognize the timeless song “Edelweiss.” Over the years, many artists have performed their own versions of this beloved melody, but one choir from Armenia has created a rendition that is truly unforgettable.

The talented young performers from The Little Singers of Armenia recently delivered a breathtaking choral version of “Edelweiss,” blending all 39 voices into one emotional and powerful performance. From the very first notes, the audience was completely captivated.

Originally written by legendary composers Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for the Broadway production of The Sound of Music, “Edelweiss” later became one of the most iconic songs associated with the famous film adaptation.

Now, these talented young singers have introduced the song to a new generation. Their soft opening harmonies gradually build into a rich and emotional chorus that fills the concert hall with warmth and beauty.

As the choir sings:

“Blossom of snow, may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever.”
