David Beckham Becomes the First Billionaire Athlete in UK History
Football icon David Beckham has officially become the first billionaire athlete in United Kingdom history, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List 2026.
The former Manchester United star and his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, now have a combined fortune estimated at £1.185 billion, which equals around $1.58 billion.
Reports say Beckham’s wealth more than doubled over the past year. A major reason behind the huge increase is the rapid growth of Inter Miami CF, especially after football legend Lionel Messi joined the club.
Beckham reportedly played an important role in convincing Messi to remain in Miami for another three years, helping the club continue its commercial success and global popularity.
One of Beckham’s most valuable investments is the massive real estate project surrounding Inter Miami’s new stadium near Miami International Airport. The 26,700-seat venue is part of a 131-acre development that includes restaurants, retail stores, office buildings, and residential properties.
The Sunday Times estimates Beckham’s investment in the project is worth more than £370 million.
Away from football, Beckham continues to earn millions through business partnerships and brand deals. His company, DRJB Holdings, paid shareholders nearly £43 million in dividends during 2024, followed by another £17.2 million payment in early 2025.
Beckham also retains a 45% stake in his business empire after selling part of it to Authentic Brands Group.
Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham’s fashion business is also experiencing major growth. After investing heavily in the brand during difficult early years, her company now generates more than £100 million in annual revenue.
Sources connected to Neo Investment Partners estimate the fashion label is now worth around £375 million, with the Beckham family owning approximately 35% of the company.
