And of course, no visit is complete without a warm cup of Glühwein in your hands. Berlin just gets Christmas right.

Copenhagen wraps up our top five with its blend of tradition, charm, and cozy Scandinavian vibes. In the center of the Old Town, you’ll find Julemarked in Højbro Plads, a Christmas market inspired by classic German traditions (yes, there’s plenty of waffles and Glühwein!).
For something magical, step into Tivoli Gardens, the Christmas market inside one of the world’s oldest amusement parks.
If you want something more traditional, head to Julemarked Kongens Nytorv. No matter what you’re into, Copenhagen has a festive corner waiting for you.

Stockholm, Sweden
If you want a Christmas trip that feels straight out of a winter fairy tale, Stockholm is a perfect choice. The celebrations start in mid-November, and Stortorget Christmas Market in the Old Town — the oldest in Sweden — is the place to be.
