Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes the World’s Highest-Paid Athlete Again With $300 Million Fortune
Cristiano Ronaldo may have fewer Ballon d’Or trophies than Lionel Messi, but when it comes to money, the Portuguese superstar is still playing in a league of his own.
For the fourth consecutive year, and for the sixth time in the past 11 years, Ronaldo has topped the Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid athletes. According to the latest rankings, the football icon earned a staggering $300 million over the last 12 months.

Most of Ronaldo’s income comes from his massive contract with Al Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia, where he reportedly earned around $235 million for the season. Off the field, the global superstar brought in another $65 million through endorsement deals with major brands including Nike, Binance, and Perplexity AI.
Ronaldo has also expanded his business empire through investments and luxury real estate. Reports say he invested $7.5 million into a technology subsidiary connected to Herbalife last year.

Saudi Arabia’s Growing Influence in Sports
The second spot on the Forbes list also belongs to an athlete closely connected with Saudi Arabia. Mexican boxing champion Canelo Álvarez earned $170 million after signing blockbuster fight deals in Riyadh and Las Vegas. His boxing matches generated enormous global attention, while sponsorships and business ventures added another $10 million to his fortune.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s longtime rival Messi completed the top three with total earnings of $140 million. The Argentine legend reportedly earned $70 million from playing for Inter Miami CF and another $70 million through endorsements and commercial partnerships.
