Ukrainian tennis star Marta Kostyuk has once again captured fans’ attention at Wimbledon, unveiling a second wedding-inspired tennis outfit after her original bridal-inspired look went viral in 2024.
The inspiration behind the design dates back to her 2023 wedding, when Kostyuk wore a custom gown created in collaboration with her apparel sponsor, Wilson. That original tennis version featured a sleeveless dress with a lightweight, sheer overlay that resembled a bridal veil.
For this year’s tournament, Kostyuk returned with an updated version called “Marta Dress 2.0.” The new design is crafted from high-tech lace that evokes the elegance of a wedding veil while remaining fully functional for elite-level competition.
According to Wilson, the outfit features “an elegant two-piece bra, jacket, and skirt with technical lace inserts that add sophistication while maintaining the performance required for professional tennis.”
Like the original Marta Dress, the new version is available for purchase. Despite its €170 price tag, it has already sold out in nearly every size, highlighting its popularity among tennis and fashion fans alike.
Inspired by bridal fashion, the Marta Dress 2.0 has earned widespread praise for its graceful appearance. Its layered skirt flows beautifully during movement, drawing comparisons to both ballet costumes and bridal gowns.
The outfit may eventually become a museum piece. Kostyuk’s original 2024 Wimbledon dress has already been donated to the Wimbledon Tennis Museum at the All England Club, recognizing its unique place in the tournament’s history.
Kostyuk has also impressed on the court. She defeated Nadia Podoroska in the opening round before overcoming Anna Blinkova to advance further in the tournament.
After her first-round victory, Kostyuk shared a photo from the court showcasing the flowing skirt with the caption: “The first dance is over.”
Fans quickly filled the comments with praise.
