At 49 years old, the mother of two stepped onto the stage of Canada’s Got Talent with quiet confidence. Within minutes, that calm presence transformed into something unforgettable. By the end of her performance, all four judges were on their feet.
Originally from Chicoutimi, Jeanick’s story didn’t begin on a big stage. It started in a church choir when she was just seven years old. Like many singers, she practiced with a hairbrush as her microphone, performing for her first and most loyal audience, her family.
Life, however, had other plans.
Today, Jeanick works in palliative care, supporting people during the most difficult moments of their lives. At home, she is a devoted mother to two children with Down syndrome, balancing compassion at work with love and strength in her personal life.
Despite her powerful voice, she never pursued fame seriously. She sang in small venues, for friends, and for family. That’s what made her audition so unexpected.
When she chose to perform “I Surrender” by Celine Dion, the room shifted. The song, known for its emotional intensity and demanding high notes, is not easily mastered.
